The word Yoga means 'Unity' or 'Oneness' and is derived from the Sanskrit word 'yuj' which means 'to join'.

As the enlightened masters teach, Yoga , in its most profound form refers to the Union of the individual conciousness (soul or spirit within, the Seer) with the Universal consciousness.

The greater glory of Yoga is this Spiritual Self-realization, the realization that the Spirit within is no different from the all pervading spirit.

It is the final alignment of One's inner Self with the abiding infinite reality. In this state there exist no difference in the Soul and only Selfless love and Service remains.

The profoundness of these statements leaves us anxious as to what Yoga means in our very material lives, with high expectations, constant dualities , its ups and downs, pleasures and pain ! None other than Lord Shri Krishna will put our anxiety to rest ... More in my next post!
